played this on a 3 scary games, really enjoyed it, great concept and scares. Combat added a great atmosphere. I did fall through the map at one point, but aside from that, great work!
The mechanic you implemented to reload the shotgun is so amazingly well put, original and fun! Please keep developing or start working on another project, I'd be so sad if this mechanic wasn't used on a larger game!
Really good game, havent jump out of my sit in a while, and this game literally got my adrenaline so mess up, that i need to get up and play instead of staying sitted, keep up the hard work...
i was worried this was gonna feel too derivative when i heard half life sound effects at the start but honestly? i'm pleasantly surprised
the combat manages to be both stressful and still fun, the experience of desperately running around trying to reload your shells and forgetting to cock the shotgun when you're about to shoot was great, and i enjoyed having to time your hits with the melee weapon while still trying to dodge out of the way and maneuver through the cramped space using only your memory, it's a good combination of pre-planning and thinking on the fly
the enemies that charge at you but slow down if you shoot them are well designed, they absolutely destroy you if you panic but they're not that bad if you just calm down and aim (which i think makes a lot of sense for this type of game)
the boss feels like you're trying to balance keeping your distance while navigating the environment, making sure you have enough ammo, and actually doing enough damage to the boss (this is a good thing, i enjoyed it) - i ended up landing on the strategy of killing the crawler asap and then trying to avoid the leg guys, which was very fun
my main gripe with this game is still the sound effects (and, honestly, the memes at the start, though they could still contribute to a more lighthearted tone if that's what you're going for) - the game ends up feeling insecure about its own premise with the references to half life and i feel like it can stand on its own
it could also use a story, but honestly, combined with the memes, "you get home and there's a bunch of weird zombies you gotta kill" ends up somehow working as a good backdrop for the gameplay. i'm not sure how that would scale to a longer 3-4 hour game, which i think would be the ideal playtime for this personally (assuming you add more bosses and expand on the combat in the next sections, maybe with more weapons that have neat reloading mechanics, like a single shot bolt action hunting rifle or something)
i'd be very interested in playing through a full game that had a few hours of content if you decide to keep working on this, it's really fun

Good demo, although i don't expect a lot for the full game. If the demo took me like 10 or 15 minutes to beat i doubt that the finished game would be more than an hour.
I have some stuff that i liked:
The shotgun mechanics are niche and it enhances the tension in combat. It would work wonderfully if it was implemented in a survival horror game (In fact this whole game would work as a survival horror game).
The atmosphere and background """music""" is great and enhances the horror aspect even further. I was pan-shitted scared all the way through because i was expecting a jumpscare at any second.
The models of all the monsters (Minus the torso-less one because it's just 2 legs) are nice.
Overall all the models and textures (while pixelated) are nice and they make for one consistent artstyle.
The beginning section is good and the shift to the apartment is drastic (In a good way) and caught me off guard the first time i play it.
Now what i didn't liked:
While i don't have any issues with the mechanics regarding the shotgun and i believe that the enemies take juuuuuuuuuuuuuuust the right amount of hits to take down, i think that you get very few shotgun pellets considering the amounts of hits that the enemies take. (Maybe if you increase the amount of shells you get from 3 to 4 or 5 maybe even 6, i would be fine with it).
The baton is almost useless. It works as a melee weapon but the wind up before it hits makes it quite risky to use it. The ideal way that i found to use it, when you are fighting the torso-less enemies for example, is to back off. But the rooms are quite tiny, meaning that you will bump your back against the wall and get hit constantly. You can try to hit him if you circle strafe, but that is also quite hard because you are slow when you walk. I believe that by simply making the wind up slightly faster it would make the weapon slightly better. (You don't even need to buff the damage).
The final room. It took me like 4 or 5 times and it's because you have so many things to focus on. The 3 or 4 torso-less enemies, the big sirenhead wanna be who sucks up damage and the big monster without the head guarding the exit which rushes at you when he sees you. It would had been better if it was only the sirenhead wanna be in some sort of boss fight or if you lowered the health of the damm thing to make the room slightly easier.
Memes. It doesn't bother me the cat meme at the beginning and the one that appears when you enter the apartment made me chuckle, but i feel that they can be immersion breaking and slightly out of place. To be fair tho, i didn't noticed any other memes after the apartment one and the ridiculous premise doesn't bother me.
Too many Half-Life sounds effects. (That doesn't even bother me, i am just worried that Valve will sue you for using them lol).
Overall tho, i enjoyed my time and this demo doesn't overstay his welcome. I wonder how the full game will be...

Hey Developer, you got my attention with the smoke ngl. I played it fully and to be quite honest I liked it alot and want to play the full release, loved the retro aspect, the silent hill-esque vibe with a touch of Half Life. Great game, enjoy my video on it. 9/10

Графика - превосходная. Но иногда обьекты не сходятся по количеству полигонов. Например тумбочки в коридоре с 4мя дверями слишком высокодетализированные. Враги при этом слишком low-poly, хотя окружающий их интерьер явно круче. Особенно странно было когда ты заходишь в комнату где есть обломки, кирпичи и та тумбочка, а на тебя идёт обрубок человеческих ног.
Сам враг прикольный, но он уж слишком low-poly, я бы посоветовал добавить ему чуть чуть больше деталей.
Оптимизация очень плохая. На моём 545v (кастрированная видеокарта 4300 с 512 мб видеопамяти) и 4 гб RAM игра шла в 18 кадров. С выключенным фонариком - в 22. Я бы не говорил про оптимизацию если бы в настройках была возможность сменить разрешение рендера (именно рендера, а не отображения картинки. В Assassins Creed часто косячили тем что меняя разрешение экрана ты меняешь только разрешение картинки, а игра лагает всё так же сильно, потому что рендерится в старом разрешении)
Но атмосфера и звуки замечательные. Ещё очень понравилась идея разделения перезарядки на несколько кнопок - это отличный способ занять игрока механическим процессом, чтобы пока он ходил по коридорам он что-то делал ещё. А благодаря звукам мыши и вложения патронов, это даже придаёт ощущение импакта ничуть не слабее чем сами выстрелы. В общем, геймдизайнерские решения - отличные, но пока что играть трудно из за оптимизации(

The controls are initially a bit confusing, R to start reload mode, RMB to insert, R to finish reload mode, RMB to rack, then R to start reloading again because you need to put one last shell in. Also, just a lil QOL, but the player needs to load all shells again at every level start.
4/5, it's pretty good but flawed (in much more than controls, just don't have a good memory), and the only horror was from the initial reveal of the crawler (which is good, but not maintained, I shat my pants at the final fight because of difficulty and not because of individual scariness).
The game saves the number of shells in the gun when entering the level. So if your shotgun is empty when restarting, you probably entered the level when it was empty. Or it's a bug that I thought I had already fixed.
This game was very rushed due to a lack of motivation, so you are absolutely right about some of the bad design choices, especially regarding the lacking horror aspect of the game.
But I'm glad you enjoyed it to at least some extent.
This was a fun, short horror game! Loved the environment, sounds, and the monster designs were really cool! I wasn't a fan of the shotgun mechanics. Maybe I just need to git good! Other than that I loved the game. Can't wait for the full release!
Ну прям хорошая игра и атмосферно и механика с оружием хорошая , прям отлично. Жду полного релиза с большим количеством пушек и монстров и да мемы хороши. Думаешь пошутейка какая то , а тут и враги могут выскачить быстро и патронов можно потратить больше. Жду как закочнится всё
